K‑8 Instruction

Grace Valley Christian Academy provides a rich and well-rounded K-8 education to advance the academic and spiritual well-being of each student. Above all else, we teach the gospel message that Jesus Christ saves sinners, and we help students grow in wisdom and godly character. 

Along with spiritual instruction, GVCA provides a top academic education and has been voted Best Private School in Yolo County for many years. Students take rigorous math classes and hands-on science courses, in which even elementary students conduct experiments in our fully equipped laboratory. GVCA’s elementary writing program focuses on fundamentals like proper letter formation, punctuation and grammar, as well as spelling. Our kindergarteners learn to write a complete paragraph, and our third graders produce five-paragraph essays with beautiful penmanship. We teach classical literature, science courses that foster appreciation for the world God created, and history that celebrates our country. Students enjoy many additional courses such as art, music, choir, Spanish, Bible, physical education, and robotics. The coursework is challenging but achievable for all motivated students and families, with the help of our teachers and staff.  

GVCA students learn from teachers and one another, not screens. We embrace a low-tech approach and do not permit students to have smart phones while on campus. Classrooms are orderly, and students are trained to respect teachers and care for one another. This environment helps our students focus on learning, and encourages engagement in the classroom and friendships with peers.
