GVCA Wins 2026 Best Private School in Yolo County
Tradition of Academic Excellence Recognized with 14th Win
We are pleased to announce that Grace Valley Christian Academy won Best Private School in the 2026 Davis Enterprise Readers’ Choice, Best of Yolo County Contest. Now in our 28th year, Grace Valley continues to provide excellent and affordable Christian education. This year’s award is yet another affirmation of our continuing tradition of academic excellence in Davis, Woodland, Winters, and the broader Yolo County community.
The Davis Enterprise Readers’ Choice is an annual event that showcases local businesses in Yolo County based on the votes of local residents. Grace Valley was first awarded Best Private School in 2012, and since then has received the award fourteen times.
Outstanding Teachers and Supportive Parents
“We are honored that the community has recognized us again as the best local private school,” said Principal Sharon Broderick. “This is a unique school where outstanding teachers work together with supportive parents to train students in Christian character and to help them grow in discipline, hard-work, and responsibility. Given such training, our students experience the joy of excelling in school and meeting the high academic standards set for them.”
Award-Winning K-8 and High School Programs
Grace Valley’s accelerated kindergarten through eighth program offers a comprehensive curriculum, which includes classic literature, a robust writing program, hands-on science, and challenging math courses at all grade levels.
Grace Valley high school students take advanced high school courses while also fulfilling UC and CSU general education requirements through community college classes. This accelerated program allows students to graduate from high school one year early, having already completed nearly two years of college credit.
Celebrating 28 Years in Yolo County
Grace Valley Christian Academy opened in 1998 on the campus of Grace Valley Christian Center, a Bible-centered church in the Reformed tradition in Davis, California. Founding pastor Rev. P.G. Mathew had a vision for a local Christian school where students could be called up to high academic standards and godly character development. With a new education building, a band of volunteers, and a lot of faith, Grace Valley Christian Academy opened in 1998 for kindergarten through ninth grade. Since then God has abundantly blessed GVCA as evidenced by the addition of a high school program, expansions on our beautiful 25-acre campus, and countless successful graduates who have gone on to study at top universities and enjoy thriving careers.
We look forward to providing the best education to our local community in Davis, Woodland, Winters, and the surrounding Yolo County for the next 28 years and beyond!
